Gin was invented in the 17th century by Dr Sylvius as a drinkable treatment for many illnesses. English soldiers fighting on the continent took to the liquor called ‘genever’, from the French for juniper - one of the principle ‘botanicals’ in the recipe, and started craze which swept England.

Soon after ‘Dutch courage’ was being made in England with the name shortened to gin

We have taken gin right back to its roots in the Netherlands where our master distiller, Mr P Vonk Sr. makes a smooth aromatic traditional dry gin using nine carefully sourced botanicals including the true essence of Japanese Cherry Blossom. The result is a truly unique and wonderfully aromatic gin that captures the spirit of Hanami.
